What is a Residency Series? (And why is it more expensive than the regular Zouk series?)
A residency series is super unique in that it features a guest artist. In this case, Fernando all the way from Rio de Janeiro! 🌊🌴😎 He's been a dancer for 28 years 🕺🏻💃🏻 and a Brazilian Zouk teacher for 15 of those years!!! He graduated from Núcleo de Dança Renata Peçanha 🎓 where he taught classes for 8 years. (Fun Fact: Renata is one of the founders of the dance, the "Queen of Zouk", and also another one of Gabriel's teachers)  He's been a featured artist for Zouk & Samba de Gafieira at several events throughout Brazil and internationally 🌏 Fernando started his own company in Rio, where he teaches and helps others grow 🤩 His energy is amazing, and it's really incredible that he's able to be here in Iowa of all places??? We can't wait for y'all to meet him! 💛💚💙

I won't be able to attend all the classes, can I get a discount for the ones I'll miss?
Because we're bringing a guest artist ⭐ and as this series is progressive there are no drop-in options, but there will be recap videos and friends to practice and review material with during our weekly Sunday practices! 

Is there a student discount?
Yes! For those of you who have a valid student ID use code RZRSTUDENT4RIO for a discount 🤗

I see the worth, but I can't afford the whole sum?
If you're not a student and can't afford the whole series at once these are some options available to you: 

• Deposit option at registration (the remaining balance will be deducted automatically from the original payment method on February 28th)
• If this timeframe is still not possible for your budget and mental peace, please message me - we'll figure out something that works for you.

Please don't be shy in reaching out. I know times are tough right now, in more ways than one, let's be honest, but please, please don't let pride be the reason you don't join us for this super unique opportunity to learn from Fernando. Your presence matters, you matter! Message meeeeee ❤

When did Brazilian Zouk start?
Brazilian Zouk is one of the newest partner social dances - it originated in the 1980s; you all are part of history in the making, how cool is that?? 😍

Fernando Martins is Brazilian and currently lives in Rio de Janeiro. A dancer for 28 years and a Brazilian Zouk teacher for 15 years!!! Did you know? Fernando Martins is Iowa's very own resident artist Gabriel's teacher and good friend!

Teacher, dancer and event organizer, Verity Rose has been dancing since age 3. She teaches in Iowa City, Des Moines, Fairfield, and has been a featured artist at Zouksgiving, Chi-Town World Dance Congress, and more. She's excited to witness and be part of the growth Iowa Zouk community!
